Gateway to the Sierra Nevada
Reaching Kennedy Meadows South means something to PCT hikers, it feels like a graduation. Southern California was coming to an end. We ate, drank, celebrated and rested with friends. We put the world to rights under the canopy of a canvas tarp and whittled away hours playing Dobble (mostly losing to Frog). 700 miles into this adventure we knew that even if it ended tomorrow, we’d have gained experiences to shape a lifetime.
The desert would soon give way to a sea of peaks. We were on the doorstep of the Sierra Nevada Mountains.
